The deadline to register for LID and have appointments made for you was Friday, December 20, 2019. Since this was a hard deadline, advance registration is now closed. But you may register onsite on January 30 and attend appointments that were scheduled for your district.
Location and Schedule
Stay tuned for additions, such as continuing education and committee meetings.
9 a.m. - Briefing at United Churches (our home base), 110 11th Ave SE, Olympia
10 a.m. to 5 p.m. - Appointments with legislators
11 a.m. - Sandwiches arrive!
Noon - Student Hub - Gathering for students to meet peers from around the state, make new friends, and learn about advocacy!
3 p.m. - PTWA Legislative Committee meeting in Chapel Cafe
3:45 p.m. - Bus departs for Spokane from United Churches

Refreshments served in the basement Social Hall at United Churches throughout the day.

We will award one hour of CEU to anyone who attends the whole briefing and the three appointments with their legislators.
Our 2020 legislative priorities are:
  • SB 5601/HB 1562 - Health benefit management (reintroduced and amended since 2019).
  • SB 5887 - Health carrier requirements for prior authorization legislation (reintroduced and amended since 2019).
  • HB 2482/SB 6407 - Amend spinal manipulation endorsement requirements to retain the supervisory language in effect through June 30, 2020.

  • 3:15 p.m. - Spokane bus loads for 3:45 p.m. departure from Eastern Washington University (310 N. Riverside Blvd)
  • 4:15 p.m. – Spokane bus loads for 4:45 p.m. departure from Spokane Falls Community College (Magnuson Bldg, 3410 West Fort George Wright Dr, Spokane)

  • 3:40 p.m. - Spokane bus loads for departure from United Churches

There is no parking on church property. Find parking in Downtown Olympia or in one of the Washington State Capitol Campus lots.
Student Travel Reimbursement
Student Carpool - Mileage and Parking Reimbursement
Western Washington students may be reimbursed for mileage and parking for transporting a carload of people to legislative day. Please submit a Student Mileage & Parking Reimbursement Request by April 1, 2020 to be reimbursed.

Eastern Washington Student Hotel Room Reimbursement  
Eastern Washington Students may be reimbursed for their hotel stay at the hotel listed above. Please submit a Student Lodging Reimbursement Request by April 1, 2020 to be reimbursed.
